About Connie Sciolino:  I am the Owner/Head Coach of The Alpine Training Center, a strength & conditioning gym that helps develop strength, endurance and skills for outdoor sports.  We have a wide range of athletes from professional athletes to weekend warriors to young athletes, all working to push their limits in their sport.  When not in the gym I spend my time skiing, trail running and rock climbing.

Hometown:  From Westport CT but will always call Jackson home.

Position:  Board of Directors 2020

Skiing/Racing  Experience: I started skiing at a young age and started racing in high school for my high school team in CT while also traveling to Vermont on weekends to ski with the Bromley Mtn Ski Team.  I continued to race during my first year at St. Michael’s College in Northern Vermont, but was not as competitive as  I had hoped, so after a year of racing for them, I began teaching skiing at Sugarbush Mountain.  Upon finishing school, I moved out West to Jackson, WY.  I taught skiing for 8 years at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where I further honed my skills on the ski hill and developed a love for backcountry skiing.  Upon moving to Boulder, I was the Assistant Coach to the Nederland High School Ski Team for two years but life at the gym became too busy to continue.  I now split my time on the ski hill and in the backcountry – loving both equally as much.

Coaching/BOD experience:  I coached skiing for 2 years and have been a strength & conditioning coach for over 10 years.

Academic Accomplishments:  BA in Spanish, MS in Exercise Science, Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach through NSCA, Level 3 Coach through Gym Jones.

Fun Fact:  My first days on skis were at the small French resort of Avoriaz.  I didn’t speak French at the time and the whole experience was overwhelming, to say the least, yet it didn’t deter me.
